What is the tempo traveller rate in Chennai in 2026?
RKV tempo traveller rates in Chennai are ₹23/km (12 seater), ₹24/km (14 seater), ₹25/km (16 seater), ₹26/km (18 seater) and ₹29/km (21 seater). Luxury tempo travellers are ₹30/km and Maharaja tempo travellers ₹36/km. Outstation trips are billed on a minimum of 250 km per day plus driver bata. Local packages start at ₹2,500 for 5 hours / 50 km.

Outstation trips are billed on actual kilometres or 250 km per day, whichever is higher, counted from our Ramapuram garage and back. Diesel and AC are included. Toll, parking, inter-state permit and hill charges are paid at actual. Extra kilometres on local packages are charged at the per-km rate. GST as applicable.

Tirupati: 280 km actual is above the 250 km one-day minimum, so 280 km is billed. Pondicherry: 310 km actual is below the 500 km two-day minimum, so 500 km is billed. Ooty: 1,120 km actual is above the 1,000 km four-day minimum.

Tariff questions
How is the tempo traveller fare calculated for outstation trips?
We multiply the per-km rate by the actual km from our garage and back, or by 250 km for each day, whichever is higher. Then we add the driver bata per day. Toll, parking, permits and hill charges are added at actual.
Is there any night charge?
There is no separate night charge on our tempo travellers. The daily driver bata covers night driving. For long overnight runs we may suggest a second driver for safety, and quote it upfront.
How is the driver bata counted?
Per calendar day, not per 24 hours. A trip that leaves on Friday night and returns on Sunday morning counts as three days of bata.
Do you charge from the pickup point or from your garage?
Kilometres and hours are counted from our Ramapuram garage and back to it. Since we are central (near Porur), the extra distance is small for most pickups.
What are the inter-state permit charges?
Permits are paid at the border at actual cost. As a rough guide: Puducherry ₹300 to ₹500, Andhra Pradesh ₹700 to ₹1,000, Karnataka ₹1,200 to ₹1,800 and Kerala ₹1,500 to ₹2,500, depending on vehicle size and days.
Can I get a fixed package price instead of per km?
Yes. For common routes like Tirupati, Pondicherry, Ooty or Kodaikanal, we can give a fixed all-in quote so you know the total before you travel.
